Hey all,

My 2022 Sarge Green JT is only 6 months old and there's small bubbles in the clear coat at the front edge of the hood that seem to be flaking/wearing down. The hood doesn't make contact with anything where this is occurring. Has anyone else encountered this?

I’ve got something similar on my 20 Rubi. Just read recently here some problems with paint adherence to the aluminum due to not quite correct prepping of the bare aluminum. I might be able to warranty it, but it doesn’t seem worth the trouble as it’s in an inconspicuous spot. I’ll just touch it up if it flakes . Although my Mopar Silver Granite touch up paint it a lot lighter in color.

I showed it to my dealer on the leading edge of my hood last service. Definitely poor prep. They told me I had to leave it a week and would not provide me a loaner or rental car so I haven’t fixed anything yet

Good to know, it definitely seems like poor prep. I'll have to stop by the dealer soon so I can get this taken care of. Will report back

Just went through this myself. The dealer had a shop they used and went through to get it fixed. It took 2 trips, but it's good to go now nevertheless. It's an annoyance and something that should just be right to begin with that wasn't.

Do a search here for paint bubbling, flaking, etc.
Then go out and do the same in google for Ford paint bubbling
Then go do the same for Chevy paint bubbling..........
And you will get hits every time.
There are several threads on this here, some going back a couple of years, some quite long.

Paint bubbling is a common key phrase.

Bottom line - take it to your dealer.
