I thought I'd share my dealings with Clearlidz - this is about my experience dealing with the company, not a review of the actual product (unfortunately).
I decided to pre-order Clearlidz for my JT on 11/1/19 - the website said expected delivery would be by "the end of the 4th quarter, 2019." I live in MN and only want this for winter before switching back to the soft-top in summer, so this timing seemed great to me. I fully admit a grand is a lot to drop on this thing, but whatever, I love the idea of it so why the heck not try it.
The new year comes and goes and I have heard nothing. I'm pretty anti-phone calling, so I email the guy who sent me the order confirmation asking when they expect to ship. I wait a few days, but hear nothing. I start a chat on their site and am told their Engineers are finalizing something or other and I state something about that not sounding promising for delivering anytime soon, but am assured that's not what it means even though they cannot give me an expected ship date. After a few more days, I email the the address on their website and get no response. Then on 1/9/20 I get a call from New Jersey and it's a guy from Clearlidz - very apologetic, has excuses for lack of communication, but cannot give an expected delivery date beyond an unconvincing "March" gets thrown my way. I said I'd give him a few days to think about canceling. He sends me a valid email, and after a few days I decide March (or most likely later) is too late and I'd like a refund. He copies the controller on his response, apologizing for the delay, and says the refund would be sent.
The next day I do get a refund, but is short about $32. I ask about the shortage and am told it's Paypal's processing fee. I check my receipt, check online, says nothing about a fee being part of the price I paid. So I open a ticket with Paypal asking about this, and the stock reply is that they are seeking more info from the seller (Clearlidz). A couple hours after opening the ticket, the Clearlidz Controller emails telling me she made a mistake and they are working to get the $32 sent my way.
So if anyone has cancelled an order and accepted the processing fee, make sure to follow up with Clearlidz or Paypal and get it resolved!
Although this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and the company feels a bit scummy, I am still interested in their product. So if anyone has had one on a previous Jeep I'd love to hear how you like it.
Cheers!
