I’m not sure if it’s been discussed here before but I wanted to get some thoughts and ideas about this sound I’ve been hearing coming from my Gladiator. I’ve got a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and have done some bolt on mods to it. The list of mods is below:
  • Clayton Off-road 3.5 inch lift kit
  • King 2.5 shocks
  • Nitto ridge grapplers 37in
  • Black rhino Kelso wheels
  • Adam’s 1350 CV driveshaft
  • Fox 2.0 ATS Steering Stabilizer
I’ve also included a few video clips that capture the sound i’m referring to. Again, this sound only appears when I’m either in 4 high or 4 low. It’s dead silent when it’s in 2 wheel drive. I thought maybe it was something to do with the swaybar being connected vs disconnected. I tried both connecting it and disconnecting it and the sound still appears. It seems to be getting more and more prominent. It didn’t make this sound that often in the beginning, but now it’s become more common. I’ve checked the control arms, track bar, sway bar links, shock bolts, and nothing seems to be loose. The sound only comes from the right and I’m pretty sure it maybe the front right wheel (in that area). When I put the truck into drive, or reverse, then give it a tiny bit of gas, the sound will appear. I try to minimize turning the wheel but the sound occurs at random times. I can got over an obstacle with the wheel straight, and I’ll hear that sound.

Any ideas or inputs would be greatly appreciated.

You don't say whether the drive shaft is front or rear.

Either way, I think your issue is in the front drive shaft. Either because of the lift (factory drive shaft) or the CV if the new drive shaft went up front.

CV's can be loud.

Yes, I forgot to mention that the front driveshaft is what was replaced. It’s also not an actual CV joint. I only put CV there in the name because that’s what Adams Driveshaft call their driveshafts. It uses a u-joint. Also, the sound was occurring even after I replaced my driveshaft. It was making the sound when I still had my stock driveshaft in there.

Check your front caster angle, you may be in a bind. It's in the front since it only happens in 4WD, so that cuts the search area in half.
