I didn’t read this until I replied. Yep. That’s almost always a control arm.
It was so loose, I could rotate it a degree or two with my bare hand, and it made the same noise. I'm not sure how I missed it on Sunday.

It happens. It’s not really a safety issue. Whenever I do control arms I tighten them with common sense, then test drive and brake. If one clunks, it gets tightened until it doesn’t. They clunk if they’re even just a tad loose in my experience

Thanks. This is off-topic, but is this bushing poking out on the driver's side upper control arm normal?

Thanks. This is off-topic, but is this bushing poking out on the driver's side upper control arm normal?

It would depend on the control arm bolt whose are those? If I had to guess though, I’d say probably not.

It would depend on the control arm bolt whose are those? If I had to guess though, I’d say probably not.
It's the stock bolt holding in a Core 4x4 control arm. That cast part that sticks up from the axle and holds the control arm appears to be narrower than the bushing shell.

I found this on RockJock's YouTube page. It looks like that bushing normally sticks out like that on the driver's side.
