Cowl and back bumper ditch lights

Testing the idea of some low-key ditch lights. I found some little 9 Watt rock lights, and mounted them both on the cowl by the A pillar and also at the side of the back bumper. Tied into the Aux switches.

For the cowl, the result is similar to the D and C lights, except that theirs look fancy, may be brighter, and can include the turn signal as well. For my test, I used industrial Velcro to glue them onto the stock cowl at the lower edge, and the wires run through right at the lower edge. It's an ugly little black oval, but it works.

For the back bumper, they're glued at the corner facing slightly down, and the wires run through a gap at that point.

Why the back bumper? Imagine you have to back up on a cliff road. At night. Aim the side mirrors down to the back tires, turn on the ditch lights, and see where the edge of the cliff is as you back up.

These 9 Watt units are enough light for things up close, as in within 20 feet or so. They would be useful for finding the edge of a campsite, a road turn off, a tree stump or rock or ditch, etc. Without blinding neighboring campers.

If these lights prove to be useful, I may actually drill into the cowl, and also add the side blinkers. Or maybe splurge for the D&C lights, especially if they promise to be brighter.

These may work for some, but for me I will pass on this addon type of lighting. I will say that factory corning lights do a good job, but they are concealed in the factory lighting on my 2019 Ran pickup.
