No trade in for me, so timing is less of an issue for me. I can wait -I work in a significant manufacturing industry, and I'm living the supply chain challenges every day....so I'm sympathetic regarding the potential for delays. But - I want what I ordered, no exceptions.

Looks like the order tracking is sometimes behind, and doesn't have the info that the dealer gets. Dealer called me, had info that mine was in D1, "shipping date" of June 23 (which is normally the actual build date at this point) while the tracking site finally after he called updated and said it's scheduled to build - but no other information.

If you are deadset on a rare color or rare options then by all means go the ordering route.

However, if you are okay with a white/black and the most common options (tow package, cold weather, led package, painted roof/fenders) you can find a Rubicon with those options sitting on a dealer lot that was built before the price increase.

I say Rubicon because even though they are the most expensive trim they are the most readily available and it is easier to get them under invoice for a vehicle sitting on a dealer lot.
Under invoice or under MSRP?

That depends on the dealer. Buying off the lot, you'll probably pay MSRP with a market adjustment. Ordering you should be paying invoice or below.

That's what I expected. But ordering, either online or through the dealer, consistently resulted in ~$3k higher price at the ~$50k price point. They weren't as willing to negotiate orders as they were their current inventory.

Man, but not a single diesel, it appears.
I didn't check but probably not, I have heard the diesels usually go closer to MSRP.

That's been my experience, and I searched around the country. They knocked $1,700 off MSRP. Whatever. It's just money, right?

Dang prices have definitely gone up a lot. I just built my exact Mojave on the website and my original MSRP was 61k, purchased mid-May but it was built in December. It shows MSRP now at 65,605! Even the base price has gone up, mine was 47 and now the base is 49,500. I did include the Mopar headliner and roll-up tonneau cover that wasn't on my vehicle sticker but got the dealer to throw in. They also installed it but then tried to charge me $600 for installation but luckily I didn't have to pay it as I didn't agree to that.

Yes they have. And I've heard that they're going up again in the near future. The only way I was able to negotiate with the dealer was to make the same arguments that you made. I really only wanted diesel, power windows/locks and not black, that's it. Everything else that was on it (cold weather stuff, tow package, convenience package) I didn't want.
