Smooth we have already.... but body color option .... not going to happen... But Nylon PA12 - An Engineering Grade Material , that they are made of is paintable / can be painted fairly easily by the end user.

Mine aren't smooth but I painted them with color-matched paint I found on Amazon. Sting-Gray with a clear coat looks good. The pattern adds a ton of light reflection which makes them stand out a bit.

The barrel covers are smooth and look a little darker. I painted the handles a contrasting color (Bronze/Gold) to match my contrasting wheels. I am still working on my color scheme.

Now I have the conundrum of snakeskin, gator skin or now dragon skin? Once had a BMX bike I used my moms old nylons to paint snakeskin..... Came out cool! Wondering if the snakeskin would be too small of a texture vs the other two? I would be doing all the hinges and handles painted body color, Billet silver. Could it be that you have too many options? No not that
