I finally got over my "chapped-ass syndrome" and pulled the trigger on the DiamondBack 270. It doesn't offer the topside weight carrying capacity as the HD, but I don't plan on putting anything on top in the first place. I went with the 270 for the gull wing doors near the cab. It's turned out to be more functional for me. I was skeptical about the Yeti 50 fitting under the top, and although it has to be placed clear of the latch rods, it WILL fit. The Yeti 50 is roughly 18" tall. I have yet to decide if I am going to finish this out with a bed liner or a bedrug. I did already go to the beat-em-up brush style automated car wash, and didn't see any leaks inside. The total for the 270 and the tailgate seal was $2619, and that's with the veteran discount.

Looks good, I like the gull wing configuration, didn't notice that in my current searches for a tonneau cover.
New to the forum, new to the JT family.
Diamondback is on the shortlist for me in the current decision between a cap or a tonneau cover. I like the thought of the HD, though the sticker shock has me hesitating at the moment.

The sticker price didn't shock me, it pissed me off. Reason: the price is the same no matter the vehicle. The explanation given was that material costs aren't the primary driver in the overall pricing, labor is. I can understand that and the fact that it's keeping US folks employed works for me. I looked at caps as well, and will do so again when I get ready for my Alaska/Yukon/NWT trip. For now, this suits my needs. All I'm currently missing is the radiant/sound barrier that I'll attach to the underside of the cover.

I was super fortunate to grab a HD cover off of Facebook marketplace. A guy was changing his Gladiator setup to a Bed Cap and was letting the HD Cover go for $750 and it was only a year or so old.

As a Navy Veteran, even with the military discount I don't think I could justify the cost of a brand new one.

I really like the look of the gull wing config. But I'm toying with the idea of being able to put a RTT on Billie Bars that still allow the DiamondBack cover to be opened a bit. I currently have my RTT on a truck rack that's on an old military M1101 trailer.

I am toying with the RTT idea as well, but not very much at this time. However, that did influence my decision on the 270. The 270 has a crossmember in the middle of the cover, between the full door and the gulls, and then another separating the two gull wings. The two crossmembers form a T. IF I were ever to go the RTT route, I can engineer up a 3-legged T-rack plus a support from the rear panel rock rails that would support plenty. I don’t see it happening considering some of the places I want to go will require a solid cap (big, hairy, wiff teefs wandering around). I did like the ruggedness of the HD, and the carrying capacity if you should need it, but the front panel opening towards the back glass just doesn’t work for me.

Had one I felt it added too much weight.
