Guarratee you a few people will back out, can't arrange credit, lose a job, etc. Make a few dealers aware you will be their backup.

It might not mean much, but the Launch Edition page on the Jeep site no longer has the option to join the wait-list; just has the "sign up for updates" button.

While considering spousal approval of yet another vehicle purchase (just bought a JLUR last May) I hesitated on the pulling the trigger on the Launch Edition and now I regret it. Especially after I brought it up over dinner tonight and she said "Oh I assumed you would want that one too, its all you've talked about since last Sunday (Dallas Auto Show) why didn't you order it?"

Now I regret not pulling the trigger (or clicking the mouse). So what are my options? Can I still buy a Launch Edition or do I need to wait for the generally available models to make their way to dealers and/or order one and hope for the best in terms of lead time.

Impatiently yours,

Bob
I've seen at least one video and a post claiming to have "over-ordered." Dealers will have extra, just get on their list.

I personally believe there will be quite a few LEs floating around at dealers that people backed out of or submitted multiple orders and only wanted one.

Considering all you had to do to "order" an LE was to click a button with your contact info and the color you wanted. I bet there were hundreds of bogus orders. I also saw people posting on the forum that they submitted their LE order multiple times because they weren't being contacted by a concierge and thought this would increase their chance of getting the concierge call.

I also know the whole LE purchase process (which is still in process) has honestly left a bad taste in my mouth and some may not have been willing to go through with dropping 62k+ on a vehicle, sight unseen, with options and colors which may not have even been ordinarily selected and receiving it later than the non-LEs.

All these reasons add up to potential LEs on dealer lots.

If it's just a Gladiator in your driveway that you want, as fast as possible, ordering an LE is not even what you want to do.

At this point, I plan on taking my time to test drive a Gladiator and to configure exactly to my liking. At this point it may be a while before we see them actually being delivered. In the meantime, I picked up a 2003 Jeep TJ that I am refurbishing. It was in decent enough shape that I can't call it a restore. But plenty of work to do.
