Today I damaged the corner of my rear bumper. I am going to see if I can fix it but have been looking at buying a replacement as well. The prices on some of these things are insane. It should be more simple than the front I would think but figured I would see if anyone has or knows of one that has been DIYed.

Just an idea at this point but see all options right now.

Watching this thread. I thought about making a DIY rear bumper using powder coated aluminum 6" x 2.5" c-channel, but I wimped out and bought a Rugged Ridge HD rear bumper. But I may switch out to a DIY one in the future.

I had a local guy fab me a bumper, he built a model with cardboard and just used steel plate, welded and grinded then used some sort of bedliner to paint it. Even welded on some tow hooks I already had. It was nice and sturdy, but same as @CJ5w4wdSmokyOnMyTail said I now have the Rugged Ridge HD rear on.

Edit to add: If you ever come to the East coast you can have my stock one free if needed.
