Do you buy a spare? Where do you keep it?

When purchasing a new set of wheels/tires, do you usually buy a set of 4? or do you buy 5 to have a spare? Was wondering where the spare is kept, I'd assume that if you buy wheels with bigger tires they wouldn't fit under the truck like the OEM spare?

You can get up to 37" tires up there -snug but works in most cases. I'm seeing that SOME tires called "37's" don't fit. So logic says up to 35" should fit up there pretty easily. There's also a post saying that the non-steel rims should fit but the piece that goes through the center may be a big snug going through the hole.

I order 5 tires and 4 wheels. I plan to use the stock steel spare wheel with the 37s I ordered as my spare. Hoping it fits in the stock location.

When I have some time I’m going to take one of my tires/wheels off and see if it fits underneath. If it does I’ll buy one more set with a TPMS and do a five tire rotation

Now I just need to find a spare Rubicon tire and matching wheel............

I picked up a spare Rubicon Wheel with the TPMS and took the spare off the steel spare so I could do a 5 tire rotation. Check the marketplace for them. The Rim was 130.00 with TPMS and shipping from Miami to WI was 50.00

There are a couple of threads out there of people listing the 37’s that do and do not fit in the spare tire area. I’m under the impression that it was designed for a 35.
I searched “spare fit” and found a few on this forum. Looks like the Nitto’s and BFG 37’s will fit.

I took some pics of my 35s after I put them on, looks like the storage area is almost maxed out.
