But it doesn't look like it locks open though.
Sure, there's a Tee pin on it that will lock when you swing it out. I have one of them on my XJ.

I don't understand the rear tire carrier appeal. I open the bed far too much to want a rear carrier. if needing larger than a 35 and not wanting a spare, bed makes more sense to me.

Looks like the tire carrier portion is removable, which is interesting. Nice to run it when you are loaded up for camping/expedition-ing and have no room in the bed for a spare, but remove it when not needed.

I hate underbed tires..and using the bed for the spare IMO..Is stupid...on a Jeep anyway Can pull it off

Fair enough. We all have different needs. I have had to use my spares infrequently enough that the underbody mount while inconvenient, doesn't bother me. If this was trail rig, and I had larger tires, then this would be appealing.
