Door hangers

I bought the arc hangers and looks like all the customer pictures are mixed with some people overlapping the whole window channel over the bracket or some actually sitting the hook of the bracket inside the actual channel. What's the proper way to do this or is it just personal preference?

It's supposed to sit inside the window channel. That way it doesn't damage the rubber trim.

What he said, inside the window channel = no damage to the seals. I've used these for about 2 years and love them.

I plan on getting in snag those as well. From videos I’ve seen and research I do believe it’s supposed to sit in the channel. Most ppl probably just don’t know or care.

I didn't realize that the weight of my door hinge steps threw off the balance of the doors once hung in the channel. It wouldn't sit level and swayed towards the side of the door that had the hinge steps.

The Arc hangers are great and even without the hinge steps the center is more toward the mirror.
I hang mine in the window track.
I had a JK that I hung the doors on bike hooks and never had a problem with the seals

Yeah the door isn't balanced towards the middle. Very happy with these hangers.

Ditto as to the centroid. As you can see they sit closer to mirror to balance.

And I sit mine in the seal also
