Good question. I don’t know if they replaced both. I assume not. I know that at the time of the problem the proximity button on the passenger side still functioned.

I actually had no idea that the drivers side button wasn’t working, because I never use them. If I’m being honest I didn’t even know I had them. When I read about the handles being the possible culprit in my crazy door locking saga I tested them both. The drivers side was unresponsive while the passenger side worked fine. After that test I went to the dealer.

Assuming that only the drivers side had failed, I’m banking on them only replacing that side. I couldn’t imagine a scenario where they would go above and beyond and replace both.
Ok thanks, that at least clarifies for me that both are designed to function. And assuming my issue is related to the same problem, that could be correct. Because I can say that my passenger side proximity has NEVER worked since I've owned my JT, (but again, I could had cared less beforehand) But this clicking issue that started is definitely nerve racking and may require a dealer visit.

**UPDATE FOR ANYONE EXPERIENCING THIS**

By process of elimination @mtbjeeper was right. I narrowed it down to being the door handle itself or the harness to it. However I didn't want to buy both if I didn't have to. So I was able to temporarily acquire a passive entry door handle just to test it out. Swapped it which took like 5 minutes and the issue was fixed. Although the handle is more expensive I was hoping it was that due to being less tedious to swap out versus the harness.

so I put mine back in and it started again. So in the meantime I disconnected the harness and ordering a passive entry door handle.
