This doesn’t make you better than me, ? . I do this exact thing and people say I drive like a 70yr old man. I’m 40. Combine all of these TTPs with not driving a “car” because they are too low to the ground and don’t provide a good viewpoint. I have only owned Jeeps and trucks. Following distance = awareness. Speeding is asinine. On my 28mi commute, 80% is a three lane 50-55mph divided highway with stoplights about every 1-3mi. People will often weave in and out of traffic, easily driving 70-80mph. That overage might shave 6min off a 28mi trip, if they were actually going where I was going, but only if there were no lights and traffic moved consistently. Instead, I see them get about 1000yds ahead after they pass and they wind up alongside me again at one of the next lights. What did they accomplish here? Nothing, other than be bad citizens by driving like $h!t and putting others at risk on the road so they can shave a couple of minutes or just seconds off their drive….all while thinking they look cool.Ok.
So I was in another thread about the brakes (if you really care check post history) and that got me thinking about driving styles.
Thought this could make interesting discussion.
So I think of myself as a proactive driver....
I imagine most drivers feel that way so let me explain how I'm better than you ? (jk though I do think my style superior to yours... possibly... discuss below)
So by proactive... I mean
I am multiple car lengths behind a car in front of me on the road. I don't want to be anywhere near you.... nothing personal but the majority of people like to ride ass....
Stupid, dangerous, can't see anything, what is the point? I have an open mind... explain to me how riding someones ass is a plus benefit.
I mean...
I anticipate stops...
I watch as everyone around me accelerates towards a red light. Ok. It is a half mile away.... i get it... except...
It is a half mile away.
It is already red. I get passed because people want to accelerate until they get to the absolute point they have to stop... then they hit their brakes. Why not slowndown more naturally..
I have an open mind. Please explain to me how this makes any sense.
I could go on but I want to hear from you. Why does everyone else suck so bad and how can they do better?
