I do not know if the bed is double walled but I believe a rivet nut would be a better option and would allow to to get a much stronger connection without the worry of over tightening and stripping out. A kit can is available on Amazon at pretty reasonable prices.

M12 rivnut here. On the other side there's an M12 rivnut in the bed with an M12 X 1.5" bolt . Even if you don't have bed rails there are three M6 threaded holes in the bed. See attached pics. Nothing hits the outside metal

Which molle panels are those. Did you diy the lower supports or were those part of the kit? Most panels I see just float which drives me nuts. Sorry for the quick thread hijack.

The beds are double walled at least in some areas. If you look up back by the tail lights you’ll see an air gap. However, I don’t know if the rest of the bed sides have that much room. Agree, rivnuts are much better.

813 Fabrication. They supply a nut that you need to try to work up from under the bed. Also comes with a rubber spacer to go between the back of the Molle panel and bed. I decided to go with a nutsert. M12 or 7/16 works.

yes, the sides are double walled--you can see that the inside contour is different from the outside of the bed. The front wall is single walled, but the top of it is folded over to make a top rail.
