E brake acting up after re-gear

So I picked my M/T JT up from a reputable shop after getting 5.13s and noticed the E brake was having a hard time catching but I diddnt think anything of it. I've been driving it for a few days now and it's definitely getting worse. I rely on my emergency brake almost all the time since I park on a steep gravel driveway at home. When I pull up the brake handle now it doesn't catch right away and will slip when letting off regular brake then I have to do it all over it again. I also noticed the E brake handle is not centered and looks a little off. The shop was over 3 hours away so I'm gonna have to take it to the dreaded dealer. Anyone know if this kind of thing is common or if the dealer will give me a hard time for warranty work?

If the shop that did the gears did something to the ebrake that caused the issue I doubt the dealer would repair it under warranty

Well I don't know for sure that's the case.

Could check out the cable and make sure it is adjusted correctly, more involved but you can also pull the rotors off and check the ebrake shoes, they could have been damaged or knocked off the pins when they took them apart to change the gears.

Funny enough a very similar thing happened to me when I regeared my jk a few years back. The e brake basically didn't engage at all. I took it back in and they adjusted it and all was well. It must get disconnected during install or something. I can't really think of a good reason that would need to happen but it is what it is I guess.

This happened to someone else on here recently. Should be able to easily search for that thread. Also, the brake handle is off center, so that’s normal.

I can't seem to find that thread in the search. I noticed this today and put it back on. :swear:

I believe that is the wheel speed sensor wire. Did the ebrake cables look okay?

I’m pulling my wheels and brakes off to check mine today. I have to pull the handle way too far and even then it still rolls.
