After the order is placed and gets a VIN etc it is very difficult to expedite the order, it's generally too late at that time, the Expedite needs to come in with the order.
Dealers are very reluctant to do this but they can. I have only had it done once for me In order to make the sale due to circumstances in my business I needed in less than 30 days and I got it in 25 and this was on a new order at the beginning of the model year. I just told them I cannot buy if it does not arrive by X date, my next window would have been 3-4 mo later or longer. They told me if I sign the order that day they can get an expedite on when it goes in. I did, they did and 25 days later I drove it out.
