I have read where an owner can add an extension to seat track for long legged taller drivers. I have a question about seat belts, air bags and other safety features. Automakers go to great lengths to make sure all of this works as built, what do these seat extenders do that could change the geometry of these seat track extenders?

I got the 5" extender from XT. It will give you more leg room, but won't do much if you're also a tall person and tend to bump your head on the overhead bar. I probably only use 2-3" of the 5" extension, but haven't had any issues with the seat belt. Luckily, the air bag hasn't been needed, but I can't imagine there being any issue with that either.

I have one that I took out of my truck. You can have it if you pm me you address and pay the shipping. I liked it. But took it out because it inhibits your ability to move the seat forward and my son was to short to drive with it in place

I appreciate your offer. Are all these the same or vehicle specific? I’ll take it if you think it will fit a Gladiator. If it doesn’t fit I’ll pass it on as you are to me. My zip is 83646, Meridian, Idaho. Send me a shipping charge and where to send a check. Thanks! Mike K

I had this one installed in my JL Wrangler and it gave me plenty of extra leg room. It did lift the seat up a very little, the thickness of the bracket itself. I haven’t installed it in my Gladiator yet (I just got the Gladiator very recently) but will be installing it when I have time.

I can’t comment on anything safety related to this bracket. My guess is that it could only make it less safe, but when it was in my Wrangler I never was in any accidents luckily.
