Hauling the tools upstairs must have been fun!

Oh man....I haven't even begun to make contraptions yet.....i've got some plans in the ole grape though. :movember:

I would just level it with a PLYWOOD spacer kit.......
that%20not.webp
So if I want to level my Overland- that would be a couple of 3/4" plywood spacers up front and a half inch plywood spacer in the back?

I had a guy the size of a refrigerator help get the table saw and work bench up there - luckily they came apart, the band saw I used a small winch and a come-along and planks on the stairs. The fun was figuring a way to get it up on the stand.

You don't want me involved in those - have a full wood shop above my auto shop. check out the wood wheels on the garbage can.
I have wondered about a plywood snow blade.......

Wow, you're using a radial arm saw? You are more brave than I. I will use a chainsaw, but not a radial arm saw. I see those as "Radial Arm Remover".

After having gotten a finger and thumb tangled in a table saw - I got the latest guard kit for the radial arm saw, right after buying it (bought it used from my neighbor) and am EXTREMELY careful with it, and keep hands as far back from the blade as possible.
It's not used that often, I tend to favor the table saw. I that's why the RA saw has stuff stacked on it now) I never have the arm not being used to pull the saw in a place it could even touch the blade - even if I have to clamp pieces to the table to hold them.
But even with the table saw I keep hands well clear of the blade until the blade has stopped turning. I learned the hard way not to get in a hurry and to make jigs for small pieces no matter how long it takes.
Once bitten.......

If ripping they can. Not for cross-cutting. Ripping boards is where too many don't use that - dam, can't think of the name - the fingers that you can set to avoid the kick-back. I don't use the radial arm saw for ripping.
But because of the direction the blade turns when cutting the saw can literally zip toward you and if your hand is in the way. Mine also won't move until I have my hand on the handle and grip a stop that holds the blade part back of the fence. Otherwise when you turn them on the motor part can come at you. Mine has a safety that prevents that. It was free from Craftsman while Sears still was around.

Even a table saw can send pieces across the room, especially when ripping. Been there - it's part of how my hand got messed up.

The "Ignore" button is a beautiful thing. I felt the same as you did. I cut out a lot of the BS with a couple clicks of the mouse.
There's an ignore button?.....seriously?

anti-kickback prawls......
remember when it was cool to threadjack every thread and talk about PLYWOOD? those were the days...

sorry OP, I've definitely noticed more rif-raf after the JTs actually became available, but i've learned a bit over the last 2 years on here, so I try to help out where I can.

As another said, this site is pretty tame compared to others, for me that was Honda-Tech. left that place a long time ago, jeez!

Its a science to sift through the nonsense and find the really good pieces.............just like cherry picking PLYWOOD!!!.......my bad. :giggle:

There ya go - I was going to look in the book for the name. That sounds good.

I know - I'm the rif-raf. I'm not really bad, they just draw me that way.......
Get mixed up with the hard-core drag racing guys - the AMC drag guys - they even monitor other forums and comment nasty about what someone said in another forum.

Go to Wood Smith Store for the plywood, don't have to pick through it so much.

I see your plywood snow plow and I'll raise you California Plank Road!!!!

photo-old-plank-road.jpg
Like the corduroy highway in Alaska years ago.... Where did they do that in CA? Just curious.

So what happens if you try to plow snow with a plywood snow plow on the plank road -

Well, you'll be needing one of these if you want to make the drive over the sand dunes into San Diego circa 1900 something - wood roads were the best most cheapest option!

OK, that makes sense - the shifting sands, etc.

This might be faster - said to be the only complete and running example left - saw it this last spring.
