Well I finally got a gladiator after creeping on here for a while.

I'm really excited.

I need to save up for wheels and tires. Possible to fit rubicon wheels and tires on my stock sport?

The running boards only come stock on the overland trim

Hmmmm you cannot get power windows in non sport s. It is not listed as an option in the build. They all come with manual windows as far as I know. Also do not see painted fenders with a non sport s. Are you sure you got a Base Sport (non s)? IT sounds like you got a basic Sport S version. Or did you get it from the lot or someone who modified it in some way? Correct me anyone on whether they know of any 2022 Sport (non S) coming with power windows or painted fenders. All jeep materials say no. Run your vin and get your window sticker online.
You're right, it's a Sport S. The window sticker still will only say Sport, whether it's an S or not, so that's probably where the confusion lies.

Congrats btw, OP! Welcome to the obsession!

This is my first truck so I will be putting my camping stuff in loclabe totes instead of strategically packing my renegade
I just came from a Tacoma with a topper, so I'm in the process of weatherproofing my camping loadout for the open bed of the Gladiator. So far, I'm really liking these Husky totes from Home Depot. Clear top, hinges, lockable, waterproof, and they come in a few sizes that all stack together. So far, I have three of the 20 gal size, one for kitchen stuff, and one each for my wife and me to use instead of duffels, plus one of the 12 gal for nonperishable food. I may add another 12 gal for the dog's stuff. I'm also loading a 45 gal RTIC cooler and a 40 gal Craftsman tote with all our tents and sleeping bags in it, plus some loose chairs and things that are okay to get wet.

Easiest way to tell a Sport S from a Sport is the wheels and the bumper. Sport has the steelies with the center cap, and no silver inserts in the bumper.

do all base Gladiators come with 44 axles or better?
All gladiators get the same axles other than width - some get wider axles by a total of a whopping 1.5" (.75" per side) - Rubicon gets lockers front and rear, Mojave gets rear locker (think I have that right). Otherwise, same basic axles.

The ride quality immediately improved when I swapped to the Rubicon suspension in my Overland... likely just the better shocks.
Mine went downhill. Those stock fox shocks from Rubicon suck. They look nice, but bad ride, more bounce and sway than the stock Overland stuff.

and from my own experience with the test drive the overland stock rode the best of all the trims
My experience as well, but that's by design, it's aimed at people who use it as a daily driver, creature comforts, etc.

Shadows, I think the Overland high altitude also gets the wider ones like the Rubicon

Yes. It's the same width as max tow, etc. but with the 3.73 ratio.
So width is the only difference.
I almost swung in favor of the HA because of that but thought - I've towed fine, maybe the width would be nice, but I've been real happy with the Overland as is so stick with the plan.

I almost went HA as well, but figured the 20” wheels would affect ride quality negatively so decided against it and just went Overland.

I plan on taking time, my new job has me gone from home 6 months a year so I'll have plenty of thinking time. There are some basic things I'll be doing first though they are not "jeep" mods. This is my first truck so I will be putting my camping stuff in loclabe totes instead of strategically packing my renegade, and then a 67d phone mount stuff. But other mods I'm not in a hurry to do.
I get it. All I could see was my tiny stock tires. They only lasted about 3k miles before I went from 255s to 285s. You can fit Rubicon wheels/tires with no issues with rubbing. You’ll notice a slight decrease in performance, but not really that noticeable. It’s really just like it takes it another second to pick up speed and then it’s fine. I don’t have 8th gear as much on the hwy, but I still get 22-22 mpg regularly on road trips and I drive 75-80 on the interstate. I have an overland, but that doesn’t make a difference other than my stock tire diameter was a little bit larger than on a sport.

oddly enough it didnt come with step sides. its a very odd package I got.

-EDIT- forgot to mention I have some step sides sitting in my garage, have not had a chance to install.

22 Gladiator Sport (not S)
painted fenders
hard top
8.4 unconnect w/ offroad pages
dyna 44 axles front and rear
power windows
bed liner
Every gladiator has D44 axles front and rear. If you got the Max tow package (vs regular tow pkg) you got the one inch wider wide track axles and 4.10 gears vs 3.73.

One guy on here was talking about his riding like a Cadillac stock so he swapped out the suspension because he didn’t like it being that soft.
You’re probably talking about me. I hated the floaty ride and the bed bounce from the rear. It’s way more stable now and still doesn’t ride rough, it just has a lot more of a controlled ride and feels more stable in corners.

That's the opposite of mine. The Rubicon fox shocks were a step backwards. More bounce when doing things like dropping off the 3/4" drop in front of my garage (two bounces once it lands) and less stable feeling than it was stock.
The rear max tow springs led to a harder ride - you feel more things on the road now, RR tracks are harsher but I gave up some "ride" or softness to hold the ass-end up when towing.
Stiffer springs hold the tires against the road better.
I can't say the ride up front is a lot different with the Rubicon springs up there - they are the softest of the Rubicon springs that were used in 2020. The weight I added likely help to hold it down and keep the ride similar up there, but again, the shocks are nothing to brag about.

I'm going to do some thinking before I put all of these current parts on a new one.
