I purchased a 2020 Gladiator Sport S with some nice extras.

It has Fuel 20" wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers 275/60 R20 tires.

I see that the front right tire rubs on the plastic spacer between the bumper and the fender when cutting the wheels to the left and to a lesser extent when cutting them to the right. My front left tire does not rub at all.

My question is, why does my front left tire not rub at all? I would think they would have the same clearance issue. The vehicle drives great and is perfectly aligned and other than that, I have no issues. It only had 13k miles on it when I bought it from the dealer.

It is very slight rubbing, is certainly not damaging the tire at all. I can easily fix it by trimming about a 1/2” strip of plastic from a very small area of the spacer. No more than a 2 minute fix.

The plastic pieces on the bumper can be trimmed flush with top of bumper.

Your front axle could be favoring to right side or even be forward a little on right side. Tolerances on a Jeep aren't like tolerances on any other vehicle

Thanks for the reply. After an extended bout with Porsches, BMWs and Mercedes, I have had enough "been there, done that" to come back to vehicles for pure fun and getting back to the more rural parts of Texas.

I'll be trimming the plastic back this coming weekend. I guess I would be more concerned if I had driveability issues, but all seems symetrical and in order.

It could even be one tire is slightly bigger than the other, or have more air in it.

Welcome. I recently trimmed my closure panels. I used a sharp utility knife. If you search the forums using the keywords “air dam” or ”closure panels“ you’ll find lots of good information.

That is exactly what I want to do. Thanks for the tip.
