I have searched this forum and think I have found the answer, but I just want to make sure.
I have a 2020 Gladiator Sport and I was thinking about changing the rear diff fluid. I pulled the spec on my Gladiator, and it says the following specs about the rear end.

Dana M220 wide rear axle
4.10 Rear Axle ratio (Max Tow package)
Conventional Differential rear axle.
Nowhere does it say Trac-lok / LSD.

My question is do I use 75W85 Lube w/out friction modifier? I called the dealership and the parts guy said (not convincingly) that conventional diff, means limited slip. My understanding is different. Am I wrong?
Thanks in advance!

You couldn’t add a LSD to the early max tows. At some point, it became standard. I’d just use a synthetic like Mobil 1 to cya.

The best way to find out installs is pull the cover. The worse way to find out is when it makes a crap ton of noise and become glitter

The parts guy is a moron.
A conventional differential is NOT limited slip.

If you don’t have a tracloc then it’s not lsd however you won’t hurt the non tracloc if you run a lsd oil.

Kevin and Glad are right.

Full syn like Mobile 1 isn’t crazy expensive. It will cover you if it does have a lsd.
