I am about to buy a new bumper and it states it won't accept the fog lights from the factory steel bumper. Implying that there is a difference in them and the plastic bumper. Does anyone know the difference in the factory fog lights that go in the two different bumpers?

There are I believe 3 or 4 different types . I want to say 3 point and 4 point mounting , led or non led . I just went through this with my fab fours bumper . Easy to find a solution . I went with oracle ( factor plug too) super happy .

Basic sport bumper takes one type of fog lights,
the step up like used on Overland or the Rubicon non-steel bumper takes another,
then the Rubicon steel bumper takes another.
So there's 3 as far as I know.
I used adapters to put Overland type fog lights in a Rubicon steel bumper.
Two types for plastic, another type for steel bumpers

Lights for O’land/Rubi plastic bumper has 4 bolt flanges and are not specific for side, the Rubi steel has a single side flange with 2 bolts and are side specific

Yup.
And the base sport is even different...........

Here's Overland (Rubicon with plastic bumper is the same), 4 mounting ears.
I am mounting one in an adapter bracket that allows them to work in Rubicon steel bumper -

Bought this used, first time jeep owner. Do you know how I can turn on the fog lights based on this set up? I tried messing with the light setting on the driver side corner panel, but nothing seems to activate it. How could it be powered? I thought maybe from the winch battery above?

The fog light switch should be part of the headlight switch knob...
Figures but doesn’t work, must be connection then. Just wanted to double check there wasn’t another route…

Yes, the top half of this light switch setup. Marked #5 in the manual - sort of shows a fog symbol.

The bed light is more tricky - it shows a downward-pointing light, not a bed.

The factory fog light connector is on the right side of the right frame rail right behind the bumper.
