I ordered a LE Gladiator on April 3. Received an email and am waiting on someone to call to pay deposit. Local dealer has no clue, said they had 16 Rubicons ordered as that was the only option he had to order presently. They had no clue about my order. In addition, had 2 other dealers each about 30 minutes from me call me to try and sell me a Rubicon. Must have got my name from the signups through the years. Wish I had more information.

The preorder you submitted on 4/3 would have been to express interest and have a concierge call you. It isn’t an official order. Orders couldn’t actually be placed until 4/4. I have a feeling those 2 dealers that reached out we’re trying to finalize an order for you. I recommend you reaching out to @Travis@TriCityJeep and see if he can help you get an order submitted. He is in Eden NC (not far from you) and is offering invoice pricing on the Launch Edition.

Yes I agree with this and appreciate the info on Travis. The two dealers who reached out knew nothing about the gladiator LE edition and were trying to get me to order a scrambler. I asked each of them if they were the concierge and they knew nothing on that. Went to my local dealer in Raleigh and am awaiting a next response. Thanks for responding!!! Go Pack!!!

Hey JFKitson - I'm down in Holly Springs. I've contacted Leith and Westgate. Leith argued with me that Travis is BSing about his price and there's no way he'll do the deal for what he quoted (7% off invoice + $395 dealer fee). Westgate knew absolutetly nothing. Let me know if you find out any other info. Travis@TriCityJeep is definitely the way to go.

Anyone put any thought into the fact that the Jeep Freedom contest ends on 4/30/2019 ... and Jeep wanting the videos to be with the JT w/ owner to make a video ... or is that over zealous to believe? Am I hopeful? Also dealership hear in TN believes that he will have me a VIN by end of week, the dealerships allocation will be here in, approx, 10 days and mine would/should be on it.
I don't think there was an expectation that the video would have the JT in it... definitely would be awesome. But not the case, as far as I can tell. They just want a video of you.

Do we really believe that the LE won’t be delivered to us before the regular models?

Everyone should keep in mind that there’s a lot of other ways that Travis can make a profit. He will make money on the car that you trade in. He will make money on the financing(if you go through him for your truck loan). He will make money on selling you an extended warranty. He will make money doing service work and warranty work. He will get a hold back from Jeep. He has lots of other ways to pay his light bill. In one of his posts Travis said that he could not tell us of all of his other ways to make a profit.

And in case you doubt that he really does sell trucks at below cost just know that his name would be mud and he would have a horrible reputation if he tells the world that he will do this and then tries to charge a different price. Reputation is everything in the car sales business and I feel that Travis works hard to have the very best reputation that he can get.

I took this from another thread I replied to, but they're starting to blur together anyways.

My dealer tells me that LE will actually be delivered in August and regular orders will get delivered BEFORE LE orders which is counter-intuitive.
He seemed to think he will be able to place an order any day now and fingers crossed we'll have deliveries by end of June / early July. That timeline works well for me but definitely not August. June would be incredibly good timing.
What I love about some of these dealers is that they found out about the LE at the same time the general public did, yet now seem to know the delivery schedule. Obviously I'm biased toward getting the LEs sooner, but it doesn't make sense that those who place orders after the Launch Edition folks did will get their JT before the LE.

A higher number of configurations/possibilities for regular orders that haven't been placed, compared to a single baseline configuration (minus color) that already has order numbers assigned to the build? I understand there's the potential for a customer order to be matched to a pre-spec'd vehicle that's already popped out, but I think the same could be said of the Launch Edition... Further accounting for Jeep clearly planning the Launch Edition, knowing how many they would build, and having the bulk of the orders already received, I just don't understand it.

Maybe these dealers are trying to persuade potential buyers into ordering a Gladiator from them when the order banks open instead of being wait-listed for a Launch Edition? "Even if you get your name on the list for a Launch Edition, it won't be delivered until after everyone else anyways. You should just order from me when the system lets me, any day now!". Let's not forget that we've been hearing order banks would open any day now for the past 3 months, and that each dealer has allegedly had JTs on the way to the lot for weeks.

And to reiterate--the same Launch Edition that was a major muscle movement deliberately planned by Jeep for at least a few weeks, came as a complete surprise to nearly every dealer in the country, causing confusion on how the process worked to order one. We even questioned whether or not an official @JeepCares account on this site was legitimate as details about the Launch Edition had not even made it to the rest of the customer care team, highlighted by many of us being told by Jeep customer care that the email we received regarding advanced pre-order was fraudulent.

Taking a look at all of these things together instead of separately confuses me even more when I'm trying to believe the information about timelines that some dealers are putting out; at least the ones on this site are as open/honest as they can be.

At the end of the day, I know we're all going to believe whatever information gets our trucks to our driveways the fastest; I know I do. Sometimes it still just doesn't compute.

He will get a hold back from Jeep.
At 5% under invoice he is $1000 in the hole including hold back.
Jeep must be offering some kind of volume incentive or have some other kind of deal for the high volume dealers.

People should not blame your smaller local deal for not going 5% under.

Yes Jeep has, like all car dealers, an incentive program. The more a dealership sells the larger the kickback from Jeep.

If you look around there are two basic ways a dealer sells their vehicles....

Low volume dealers who will strive to make as much as possible from their clients who they are hoping that they are basically idiots and don’t know better.

Higher volume dealers who will sell their vehicles at a lower profit margin but make it up in volume. Smarter buyers using the internet will gravitate to these types of dealers and the dealership will get a certain percentage of them into their service buys where the real money is made...This is the future of car dealerships IMHO.

Now that’s a dealer I can get behind! In all seriousness, the common theme I see is most dealers just telling people what they want to hear.

Just ordered an LE? It’ll be here in May! Didn’t make the cut for the Launch Edition? No worries, they won’t even be delivered until Q5 of 2026.

Honestly, after watching this unfold, I have a huge amount of respect for @Travis@TriCityJeep . Solid intel without BS.
