I purchased the fox ats steering stabilizer a couple weeks ago after been out of stock for who knows how long. I was finally able to try and install it today. Except when it came time to put it on with the new bracket on I didn’t have enough room because the reservoir was turned down and it kept hitting the tie rod. So I got a Allen head key to loosen the retention key so I could spin the reservoir up top. Well whoever at fox assembled the damn thing made it so damn tight I stripped the bolt. Now I have no way of loosening that bolt. My father in law and I worked on it for an hour n a half and made it no where. Does anyone have any tips to get the stripped bolt loose? It’s big enough to be stripped but not big enough to try and get the next size Allen key in it. Or has anyone else had issues with this? I guess I’ll reach out to who I purchased it from tomorrow and call fox as well. If I could get the bolt loose I would just call fox to get a new bolt sent out instead of replacing the whole thing b/c they are already on back order again.

In those cases, sometimes tapping in a Torx head socket, will give you the leverage you need and use it with a ratchet, otherwise you might need a bolt extractor

Mine was super tight also. But there wasnt enough play in the key to strip it. My key probably would have snapped first. Is it possible the key you used was .25 under?
Regardless, sounds like you might just drill it out.

I bought a superwich and having similar issues with relocating the control box. Unfortunately, superwinch is completely unresponsive. Hope you have better luck with fox.

I went to Home Depot and bought some easy outs and it just bored it out even more, so I think you’re right. Talking to my buddy he said next step is drilling it out. I’m gonna try calling where I bought it from tomo see if they can do anything for me, if not drilling it out. No reason this thing should be in so tight.

So I finally got the new stabilizer in, covered under warranty. And the pinch bolt loosened up with no problem. Whoever put the first one together must have really over torqued it or something. Hoping to install it tomorrow.
