FR 462 Tijeras, NM

Took my JT out for the 1st time on FR 462 south of Tijeras. Anyone from this area know about this road or more specifically FR 12? I entered by Coyote TH and after a few miles the road turns south. You can either turn south or take FR 12 north. I took 12 north a few miles until I got to this steep, rocky incline. I was able to climb it and it came to a trail head and it turns to the right to go farther up. It was more rocky, steep terrain. Does anyone know how far this goes? I am still running completely stock and was very impress how it was able to climb even with the Dueller A/Ts. Took a couple pics. Wish I had taken more.

Thanks for the link. That first pic is where i got to. I didn't climb over that step i drove around it. It looks like it hooks up with FR13. Im gonna have to explore that a little more.

Been a long time but used to camp near there and go fast down the canyon if that's the exit with the really nice, long, winding, wide paved road. Going south like you said up into the hills. Never found FR462 and I did not get back in there as far as you got. They used to have the best juevos rancheros down at that exit!

You can go to the Forest Service office in Tijeras and get a map of the area. The trail isn’t very long, but it’s fun.
