I have been working on a design for a front access solution. Honestly it fell to the back-burner as I was working on other items. I have had a few people ask me for a solution. I will bring this back into the priority list to see what might be possible.

We have 1, it is great. Just a pain in the butt if you need to get it out of the back seat if its forward facing. If the button holding the strap tight got reworked to release much easier I would put it back in the truck. Also it was on the 60% side so getting to the back if I put the smaller side down didn't help.
Yea the tether strap has me cussing every time I clean the seats ??

yeah the last time I had to remove it was the last time it was in the truck. I got it out after about 10 mins of messing with it and it got thrown across the lawn. Wife was laughing at me the whole time.

Maybe look at the same setup you have but the front panel is half the height. Then the rest of the front height can be removed via locks and maybe some type of interlocking tabs.

Don't go out of your way, but if were to come up with a solution/version of your full underseat-storage system, I know I would be interested in purchasing an add-on to just the MOLLE base plate if it was a) lockable; and b) hinged or otherwise provided access without having to remove my car seats. Currently I keep 2 medical/first-aid kits, an overly high powered Mag-Lite, two fishing rods, and the jack all on the MOLLE panel, but I know I'd feel better if they were a little more locked up.

I've given up hope of keeping anything of worth under there. In the case of a flat and a few other niche scenarios, I'll just have to lift the baby seat.

I had to do it this past weekend, the middle child had to have her shoulder straps moved up and the youngest went forward facing finally.

The tether design is actually really easy when you can reach it. The problem is the design of the JT’s Tether points do to the removable top. It places the tether adjuster right at the tub lip??‍♂ The loops in a Ram are so much better and easier.

I agree with @amoyer_01thoughts. If you had the front molle Panel attach at the top with ball lock pins and a hinge at the bottom, I would imagine it would be an easy solution? (I don’t fabricate things so imagination vs reality is not always the same). I have seen lockable (barrel key) ball lock pins, so perhaps that could be an upgrade option?

The current Under Seat Bin design does not work with a front opening. Since the floor only has 4 mounting points if the bin is split to 60/40 it loses a lot of rigidity trying to hold the bin to only two points on the floor. The new designs I have been working on are a completely different setup with new mounting points.

I was thinking of something like this. Keeps the same idea but allows for access to the cubbies. Even if another 1 or 2 molle squares needs to be added to the front for a location for a lock would work. I would be fine with the pink portion if it just completely comes off instead of being hinged. Just my 2 cents.

Great markup! Yes, it could feasibly be done with how you have it marked up. But, I believe with the front panel being changed to three pieces it would weaken significantly since it is only 1/8" alum. You would also be adding hinges. If using locks, there would need to be a lock on each side of each section (4 total) unless there was some sort of lock similar to a garage door to where it slides a bar on each side once the center lock is turned. But you would still need at least two locks. Add on the two locks that are holding down the seats and you would then have 4 to 6 locks on the bin. Having that many locks in my opinion makes for a poor user experience. But, the biggest issue I can see with having two panels loose on the front of the bin is noise. I think it would rattle like a 1965 farm truck :-D

Off topic, but criminy, have car seats changed since my younglings were little. Those look like mini NASCAR racing seats!
the seat in my dad's race car is made by Sparco.

Sparco also makes this. Ha. You were more right than you realized. Built in HANS device.
