If anyone is looking for a replacement front axle u-joint, in a more friendly price than the $85 Mopar 6842329AA part, the Spicer part number is 5-7166X. I was able to find one online for about $35 shipped.

Is the u-joint generally the first thing to break on a front axle?
From my experience, yes, and it often bends a shaft yoke when it does. I’m searching aftermarket options, and unless they have a u-joint larger than 1350, or CVs, I don’t see the point. I just don’t have the capital for one of those options right now, so I’m running a spare stock shaft for now.
