I have a 2021 80th Anniversary. 3.6L front 210 axle (rear 220 ). I have a right front axle boot that is cracked open. It goes in tomorrow to see if they will cover under an extended warranty that came with it when I bought it used and told them I wasn't paying extra for a warranty. They ended up transfring it anyway like they should've to start. Different dealer from a different town though. Anyway, I'm pre-emptively looking for parts #'s on axels for future reference (yes, if I have to do it, I'll probly try to put a new boot on for now first) and I expect they'll find an excuse to deny it with the "MASSIVE" 285 70 17's on it. Well I'm seeing a few different parts #'s and all say they fit my unit. Wondering what is the difference between them other than the price.

#'s are all for the RH front CV axel as far as I can tell :

68394142AA ($960.54)

68463624AA ($582.91)

There are A couple more that say for the Diesel but when you click on them also say for the 3.6L. I didn't include those here. There are also More for the right front that look to maybe not be a CV but just a shaft a stub and a u joint(?) What are those ones for? Or are they interchangeable. #'s for these are 68476428AA and 68477014AA

Keep in mind, Im in Canada so this is CAD and yes we get raped hard on part prices up here.

Thanks for the tip. Didn't even know that forum section existed. Tried over there and no such luck either. VIN search tells me both will fit a 2021 80th Anni 3.6L Upg ESS ign, etc. Wish I could look at both and see what the actual difference is. I keep leaning towards one being for the wide axle the other being for the narrow axle..? Duno though, but that would male sense.

I would try hitting up Benny at @AllMoparParts.com with a PM or maybe he'll see this thread.

In case anyone is interested or searching for future reference. For my 21' 80th ann 3.6L narrow axle. Part is 68394142AA (PS front CV axle) and thanks to @whysoserious for relaying the contact info AND @AllMoparParts.com for confirming the number and proviidng the point of sale for purchase...(see them for the part if needed....just sayin....)

Edit: also of course the more expensive one is the one I would need, typical. Whoaisme lol

Im going to ad to this thread instead of starting a new one, because I've gone down a searching spiral that reckons a utube sprial and found some info. So, I'm fairly new to the JEEP scene (first Jeep, bought the JT in July of 2023 used) came across a thread saying the Rubicons have CV's now (apparently they had u-joints before for the axles, tell me if this is wrong). Looks like they now have CV's AND they are all the wide axles. So the only difference from my CV to a Rubi is the fact that mine is on a narrow axle and maybe shorter? Somehow that makes the cost higher though(?! Side point only). Also, I'm seeing pics when searching for parts originally showing the replacement axle for mine that turn out aren't correct (at least as direct replacement for what I have) as having u-joints and NOT CV's. So do all the JT's have CV's ? Are there any that have the U-joint style axles? If so, are any of the u-joint style direct replacements? Someone please school me a bit here. I'm a Looong time Duramax guy and had the free lifetime replacement CV's down to a 20 minite job in the driveway on those and starting fresh here right now. So any knowledge is appreciated.

Edit to clarify: speaking on front axles here.

And specifically Im looking at these which look to be the U-Joint style and specific to my unit spparently...?

RF part # 68477014AA
LF part # 68477137AA

Which seem to be shown for my specific unit...(?) Even though the previously mentioned above part #'s are what I would rely on. Do Mohaves maybe have the U-joint style still or is there some other models or trims that do?

You already have 2 threads going on this, so that's a good idea.

In the other thread on the exact same topic, Benny at AMP got back to you with the CV axle part numbers corresponding to your VIN. Is there reason to believe that those numbers are not correct?

So do all the JT's have CV's ?
No, not all JTs have CV axles.

The other thread is where I was directed for help confirming the correct numbers when nobody answered here. He was super helpful and answered that for me amd ya I believe the info he provided was correct and it was much appreciated. That should be pretty obvious from the response from whysoserious above, maybe not though?! You seemed to have posted the same info I already had in the other one and was the info I had already and where I was following up from when I asked the initial question.
Im wondering if a guy could switch to the U-joint style if they wanted to just out of curiousity and what the actual differences are so its better posted here in this thread since the initial questions was answered by someone with knowledge and info in that one. So since you seem to have some generic info, what JT's have the U-joint style axles then?

Anything pre-24(I don't know when the switch specifically was but my dad's new 23 was u joints)that didn't have full-time 4wd transfer case had u-joints.

Thanks. I'll add that info to the research notes. Was reading all over getting bits of info here and there piecing it all together and that make sense. Looks like if you ha e Auto 4WD you have the CV's as far as I can tell. So still not sure on the actual physical difference in size or whatever would make them interchangeable or not in a pinch but looks like its the auto that requires the CV's apparently..
