GMRS and CB being installed on Friday. I ordered the Midland MXT275 bundle from CoolTech which included their antenna mount and ordered an additional mount for the CB antenna. I want to use the front cowl bolt location to mount the antennas to keep them away from the windshield frame just in case they whip back hard and wont damage the windshield frame. Only thing is both antennas will be just in front of the cowl flood lights. I'm mounting a Firestick antenna for the CB on the driver's side and a Midland 6db gain for the GMRS on the passenger side. I've already tested how much the Firestick will be visible from the flood light and it's not that bad. I can only imagine the Midland antenna being so thin it will be minimal if at all of obstructing the other flood light. Is there any difference in receiving/sending quality compared to being mounted in the forward or rearward location? Anyone have the same type of antennas come close to hitting the windshield frame being mounted in the rearward location?
