Frontrunner Slimline Within Yakima Overhaul HD

I've been working on this for a long time. I'm not done yet, but when I am, it's going to be glorious. First two frontrunner slimline load bars... Then the whole tray. Then all the goodies that come with it. I can mount utilities beneath the brackets like power, water, and air lines.

This approach enables both a frontrunner slimline tray rack to be installed simultaneously with the Yakima overhaul HD at the same time.

are you using the yakima bed track kit 1 or any kind of adapter to install overhaul on trail rails?

1- Any picture with lowest setting bars ?
2- Whats the kit you used to install on factory crossbar?
3- Does the foot bend the factory plastic cover on the box? My thule do that and it looks like crap

Hey what hardware did you use to mount those risers to the factory trail rails? I have the clamps, but would love to keep the rails intact.

1)sorry, no pics with the bars low
2)I used the toyota/nissan kit. It's not perfect, but it's good enough
3) what plastic cover? What box? It's all metal.

Black-Oxide Steel, M10 x 1.5 mm Thread, for 14 mm Wide Slot


I cut 3 of the 4 legs on the risers so that they did not impinge on the fuel bump or either light in the back of the bed. The 4th, I didnt have to cut.

Quick question, for the Yakima Overhaul HD did you use same McMaster t-slot nuts instead of the plates and hardware in the Yakima Bed Rack Kit 1?

I didnt use the plates. because the toyota plates span the entier tslot between the bolts. Because I needed to mount a cargo tray, I chose to use tslot nuts. They arent as solid as the rails would be. If you arent going to mount anything between the two fasteners per base, then I would use the rails that are supposed to go with the toyota.

It works great! I reconfigure it all the time for my mission. I've got a wheeled YETI cooler that fits right between my Zarges boxes, and transport axes, shovels, paddles, multi 100-lb propane tanks, canoes, radio antenna, painters poles, doors, traction boards, water cans, gas cans, dog kennels, cases of food, Ikea flat packs, bike trailers, you name it!

I mount radio antennas to the cross bars and talk to people in Hawaii, the Carribiean, and South America

Driving slow on Moab and Mexican interior trails, people sit back there on the boxes and hold on to the crossbars for stability!
