For the last 4 years I have used my jeep primarily as a family tourer. The oe tires had four failures in the first 16000 miles two punctures and two tread damage with air just coming through the tread. At that point I put e rated wildpeaks 33s on and had 0 tire failures in the next 50k miles or...
What cabling are you referring to? Mine has a ridged linkage with a pivot on each end. It is surprisingly tiny. I can't see the pivots offering much resistance. I have always assumed the "new stiffness" came from inside the case.
I am running them; they do what they say on the tin. They might be a bit harsh on the street, but I like the regressive damping off-road. They are great at moderate speeds in the desert. I went through two or maybe three sets of stock shocks before I put these on, and they have been holding up...
I'm on my 5th jeep, and each of them has had rounds of DW one or more times. The steering damper gets a lot of hate because the dealer always thinks that will fix it without thoroughly inspecting the other elements of the axle locating system. However, contrary to what many will tell you, a worn...
I had some form of this. It took several trips to the dealer. I had two Oh shhh moments where the vehicle lost power and went into limp mode for a bit. One was in the middle of a pass on a two-lane highway, and the other was just as I was cresting a steep climb off-road, which could easily have...
21 with 63k, a winch, fridge, lights, comms, and the kid's everything plugged in. Still running on the original batteries. She don't like going into stop-start much anymore which I don't really miss. I spect I'll need a new cranker soon, but I'll let her go a bit longer as she still starts up...
I think the OP is right on with sizing the fuse to protect the smallest conductor in the circuit. I see no reason or problem that could be caused by "right-sizeing" the fuse for what you have connected to it.
One thing that probably is not relevant but may be interesting is that fuses have two...
Thanks for all the feedback, everyone.
I run Falkon WildPeak A/T3W - Size: LT255/80R17... 33.1" tall and 10" wide; to answer that question... so, yes, bigger than the 245/75R-17 Goodyear Wranglers that came on it, but about the same or smaller than what comes stock on other models. I may go up...
A bit of relevant history
My 2021 has just over 50k miles. I do not drive it daily. It sees long highway trips to off-road locations, so a mix of highway and off-road. It is heavy... often at almost max gross for the sport S diesel for trip.
I had the joint between the pitman arm and the drag...
Ya, that would be my question as well. If you weave it in would it maybe loosen the splice in a meaningful way? I wondered if you had a cool solution. When I have looked at this method I have always wondered about getting it started unspooling. They tend to be kind of hard to get spinning and...
Anybody running this setup? https://yankum.com/products/winch-hawse-groove-fairlead Seems cool.
Edit: should have refreshed first. O, How do you like it? How is the quality and function?
