You talking about Ravenol ATF +4 fluid?

I am sure Ravenol ATF +4 fluid will be fine but I do not see it being 2X better because it cost twice as much as Valvoline ATF +4 or other brand ATF + 4 fluids.

For any brand fluid to actually carry the ATF +4 label, they have to be a licensed fluid. With that license, they have to meet the MS-9602 standard. There is very little room to actually exceed that standard and stay a licensed fluid with the "ATF +4" labelling. I doubt Ravenol ATF +4 fluid is bringing any other extra margins over another brand ATF +4 fluid.

Probably not the additives in the Ravenol itself, but smoothness of the t-case shifting through 2H-4H-4L.

Then again, when I shifted into 4H in my Gladiator, could really tell much… it’s so quiet.

The stiffness in shifting the transfer case eases over time or the more you use it

90% of the shifting smoothness is the cabling between the shift handle and the transfer case. It smooths out the more you use it.

What cabling are you referring to? Mine has a ridged linkage with a pivot on each end. It is surprisingly tiny. I can't see the pivots offering much resistance. I have always assumed the "new stiffness" came from inside the case.

TechAuthority calls it a cable. 🤷‍♂️

Hootbro where did you get the pdf? I’m assuming it’s the from the service manual and I would like to get ahold of one for my 22 eco.

It is from Tech Authority with a temp paid subscription to their service. I do not know if they are selling complete repair manuals. I just have some data that I printed to PDF and is not by far a complete works of what is available.

I will let you know up front, it is convoluted to get registered, pay for a subscription and get into the system.

Calling a solid rod a cable doesn't make it a cable no matter who does it. Weird have meanings and a cable is made up of strands and is flexible.
