Royal Purple for transfer case

I have a 21 Sport S. Im about to change out my transfer case fluid. The RP website says Synchromax but awhile back it use to be Max Atf4. Anyone recently put in Synchromax? Wonder why the change on the RP website

Per the owner's manual, I use generic ATF+4.

If I was to speculate, the RP Sychromax recommendation is due to the 100c cSt of 7.5 for viscosity is the same as the ATF +4 spec. Since the primary reason is as a lubricant rather than use as a ATF hydraulic fluid, the RP recommendation should work fine in the transfer case.

I don't know the history on Royal Purple MAX ATF, but here's what I found when I looked up this info for my post on key info.

SYNCHROMAX
- Match to Gladiator transfer case on RP product finder
- No match to MS-9602 or MOPAR 68218057AC on SYNCHROMAX PDS
- ATF+4 is mentioned for "Viper Trans, 2008 & up" in TRANSMISSION LUBRICANT CROSS REFERENCE

MAX ATF
- Match to Gladiator ATF for automatic transmission on RP product finder (not ZF-approved)
- Match to MOPAR 68218925AB and ZF LifeguardFluid 9 on MAX ATF PDS (not ZF-approved)
- No match to MS-9602, ATF+4, or MOPAR 68218057AC on MAX ATF PDS

Four ATF+4 options that meet or exceed MS-9602 are shown in section 1.9 of my post on links to prices. MOPAR 68218057AC has the lowest price for the 1-quart size.

RP messaged me back. Their ATF+4 composition changed and was too thin to meet Chrysler requirements. Synchromax will work just fine.
