Truth be told, I have been a Toyota homer my entire life. They have -quite literally- taken me all over the world. That said, as I drive my 4runner, I find myself wishing I had gotten a JL...pretty crazy to feel that way. The user interface and tech in the Jeep JL/JT is lightyears ahead of the 4runner..... that said, the 4runner traction control system is lightyears ahead of the Jeep's, and payload capacity of the 4runner is where an overland vehicle should start, imo....

Mixed bag.
