im pretty heavily invested in rivian and i feel this every time I check the stock prices ?‍♂ hopefully they come out the other side of this. I really line the company and their concepts.
I'm invested in Tesla and it has nothing to do with my feelings towards their CEO or their product. It is 100% about making money. Unfortunately I am "one of those people" who invests with their wallet and not with their heart.

Nothing wrong with that! It’s about gains and losses anyway. Im also in tesla but not as much. I’ve gone more into emerging markets like companies that specialize in “electrifying America” so groups that set up charging networks and create the components needed to do that. Been moderately profitable, but im hoping for a bright future

Their stock tanked on Thursday because they announced $1.5 billion convertible notes. I bought some shares as a long term keep.

I trade Tesla short term. Not exactly day trading but buy one week when down and sell them in a few days when I make even 5-10% profit.

Interesting opinions on all this. For a long time, I’ve been kind of an anti EV guy, mostly because the claims that they’re better for the environment are bullshit. And then I drove a Tesla and it was tons of fun. That changed my mind on the whole EV world. I’ve had 5 Jeeps, the latest being my JT Mojave. I loved that truck, but then my wife bought an Airstream and I towed with it, and it was not a great tow vehicle. I ended up selling it and bought an F150 Tremor which is much better at towing, but no nearly as fun as the Gladiator to drive. I’m not a fan of driving really big trucks.
the wife and I went and test drive a R1T and R1S and they both were amazing. The driving experience was easily the most fun I’ve had in a car. The Rivian tow really well also, except for the range. I just found a ridiculous deal on a demo R1T and ordered it, so once I’m able to do some decent off roading, I’ll give you a report.
From what I’ve seen, it does really well off road, I’m getting the quad motor so no need for locking diffs. Also, there was a group of Rivians that recently did the Georgia Travers, so they’re definitely getting to where they are a more viable off road option with all the chargers they’re adding.
Of course Rivian could go bankrupt, so who knows….

The Rivian are cool. 75-95k price isn’t. They didn’t get the crab walk. They have an 85 mph top speed. Range is pretty good but it’s still hard to charge in the middle of nowhere if you’re wanting to off-road.

I think they are pretty capable off road but they aren’t going to be the best rock crawlers. Reviews are generally good. I think they are still going to depreciate fast, and as a small company could fold in a handful of years.
