Good deal on 35's for rubicon

I ordered my rubicon JT on Fri (got my order # and VIN # this morning) and have been talking to the dealer about getting 35's on it. They said it would be around $1700, depending on the tire chosen, and I would keep the 33's.

Is this a good deal? Also, where does one sell 33's? Will they fit nicely tucked away in the bed, under the tonneau cover, so no-one can see them?

You can get a complete set of 4 wheels and tires for that online. I have been looking at a few different places and I’m coming up with between $1600-2000 for wheels, 35s and lugs shipped. Dealers like to pad their pockets to much. If you want to use your Jeep wheels look at 315/70/17 tires. Very close to 35s. Probably be around a grand for just tires unless you want cheap ones.

If that's for 5 tires, mounting and balancing, and flashing your computer... it's not bad. Provided they are a first rate tire and not Chinese Willpops.

I have been pricing Nitto and Dick Cepek tires. Wheels are Quadratech or Fuel. There are a thousand options out there in both that is for sure.

That is with install. Going to any tire place in the area for 5 33" tires like KO2s will be $1700 out the door. Mechanics charge more.

Yes, the price was for 5 tires, mounted, ect. The only thing stopping me, is I don't want to deal with seeling the 33's after lol. :D

I'm using the Rubicon standard wheels, just upgrading tires.

My dealer's parts guy initially tried to charge $370 per tire to upgrade to 35", PLUS installation costs, PLUS another $200 for an AEV JL tuner installed to set the tire size in the computer. The prices were exorbitant and downright insulting.

I pushed back and said no way. I pointed out that the tires were $100 cheaper (each) at Walmart. He refused to price match. Then I got Discount Tire down the street to price match Walmart, in writing. Once I had that, the dealer agreed to match the price at Discount Tire ($270 per tire) plus install. (But now with no road hazard insurance.) And I told him I'm using my own Tazer Mini, so there's no speedometer recalibration charges now. His install prices are a little higher than Discount Tire, but it's worth that (very minor) difference to me to have it all done and ready when I pick my new JT up.

He's also giving me a $500 credit for the OEM Rubicon tires. Yes, I know, lots of people on here can sell their tires for $800 or more on craigslist and so they think that's a stupid decision, but that's in your towns. I carefully checked my area to see what those tires would go for (and how long I'd have to hold them before I found a buyer) and it just wouldn't be worth it to me. Here in my area I'd probably be extremely lucky to get $600 for them, and it could easily a few months to sell. Again, not worth the hassle to me

If I were you I'd push back on the dealer. If they think they're going to lose your business they will usually price match to a national tire chain

So quick question, are the wheels the same? Can you use the 285/75 ratio from the Rubicon Falkens with the Sport models, because the Sport model wheels used 245/70 ratio tires. Please clarify

Thanks! I will push back a little, but unless they are willing to buy the original tires, I will just wait till next year, and do a lift/tires together.
