I personally thought they were great with wet traction. When you look at the contact patch, there is a ton of siping but that is coming from a MT person.
Good to know. How about road noise?? And as I said in a posted further up I get the sensation of, the best way to describe it, dragging when coming to a stop. I'm sure it has to do with the tread pattern.

Just got home. They seem quieter compared to the Firestone mud tire that came on it.

Do you have experience with these?? Are they more quiet than the KM2s? Ride any different?? I just checked locally and I can get a set of four 255/75-17 Duratrecs for $875 mounted and balanced. Plus a $75 rebate.
I had Duratecs on my Ram Rebel and they were louder than the Toyo Open Country Muds I have now

I am happy with my Falken AT3W in 255-80-17E. Same gas mileage as the little Sport tires, good ride, quiet, excellent in rain and snow, highway speeds. Very capable on rocky trails.

That exact tire is on my short list.

I have an Overland with stock tire size 255-70-18 and were Bridgestone Dueler HTs. These tire are known for substandard everything - check tirerack for reviews - yuck. But I switched them out for Falken Wildpeak ATs in size 275-65-18, which is one inch wider but same height. Not only do they look so much better, the whole truck handles better, is quiet, and MPG is almost (like within .2-.4 MPG) the same. I would say these tires are just super slightly louder, but barely noticeable. They really are some of the best ATs i have ever tried.

Now for the BFGs...people are either in that camp and fiercely defend it - or they aren't. I used the original BFG ATs years ago - and I agree that they are kinda loud, they seek out and pick up EVERY SINGLE ROCK on the road and throw it up against your paint, and that lag in braking someone else described - I found myself nodding my head yes. Same as I experienced with mine. I owned them once and actually replaced them at around 35,000 miles because the tread was cupping so bad I just could not stand it. After about 2,300 miles of these Falkens - I must say they have impressed me more than any AT tire I have ever owned. Factor in the price, and it is a no brainer. Like you I looked and looked and analysed every tire out there - but in the end - the Falken Wildpeak AT had the best look and performance of any other tire. My final top three were the Cooper Discoverer AT, the Conti AT, and the Falkens. Cooper is owned by Goodyear now, so for me they were out - (bad experince with Goodyear) and the Conti's really look OK - for maybe an SUV - but this is a Jeep - I wanted an aggressive tire that also wasn't so loud it made me question my sanity.

For me the Falkens checked every box and have been great.
