Looking for some input on a vibration.

2021 Sport S, 2 inch lift, 37” tires, 4.88 gears (installed 1.5 years ago)

Over the last week I noticed a slight vibration the second I hit 58+ mph. At 57 mph, nothing (at least nothing I can feel). 58+ and it reappears. It does not get worse the faster I go, same “amount” of vibration at 58 or 70 mph. It’s not super noticeable, passengers don’t even notice it till I point it out and then from then on anytime I hit 58+ they comment “I do feel that”

It does not feel like the typical out of balance tire but just in case, a couple of days ago I had the tires rotated and balance. Alignment was checked and according to the service guy, the alignment is spot on. Vibration is still there.

Yesterday I broke out the torque wrench and checked all the basic components I could think of (control arms front and rear, drag link, tie rod). I even went through and checked the torque on all the wheel lug nuts. Vibration still there.

I was wondering transmission? I guess what’s got me thinking it’s not that is it doesn’t matter what gear I’m in when I hit 58+ mph, 6th (hitting an incline), 7th (say jumping into the passing lane) or cruising along in 8th…..obviously I’m not a mechanic so it’s just my uneducated feeling ? it’s not transmission related.

I’m wondering if it’s differential related. I had the 4.88 installed roughly 1.5 years ago at a reputable shop and have about 10K miles on them. I followed the whole break in instructions to the T and this vibration is definitely new. My initial thought isn't necessarily a bad install but more of a "broke/worn part" maybe??

Thoughts?

Where do you feel the vibe, in your seat or in your steering wheel?

I would check all universal joints and the pinion bearings. You could try driving with either driveshaft removed (which helps in checking the u-joints also).

Yes.
Grab your drive shafts and see if you can move them and find any slack. Also check your pinion yokes for any up and down movement, there should be none.

Look at the driveshaft and make sure all the balance weights are still attached. If you see a spot with no paint that's where a weight was.

Well then.
Do you have a friend that can let you swap their tires on to your truck for a test drive?

Do you wheel it? Any dents or severe scratches on the rear driveshaft?

Or if you still have a good relationship with the shop that did your gears have them drive it. Sometimes a different set of eyes....

I developed a vibration at certain speeds a while back as well. Looked at a lot of the things mentioned. Turned out to be a 2-3" gash in a sidewall from a wheeling trip in some rocky terrain. It wasn't until coming off the beach a couple weeks later and airing up that I saw it. And only bc it was below the rim and opened up just enough to notice.
