Any idea how these work with electric seats. I bought a different solution, but they did not work with the Mojave X electric seats.

They work with the power seats, the portion by the seat is as narrow as it is to make room for adequate hand clearance to the seat controls

Many people with power seats that have bought these have reported that they are able to operate the seat controls with the door closed. If you look for it, you can find these people in other forum posts and on Facebook.
Also, I may have been involved in the design of this product...
