I removed my Mid height bed rack and mounted up the ARS JT Overcab rack. After moving my RTT to a trailer, the only reason I was using the bed rack was for my fishing poles. So I changed it up. And while I was changing up things, I figured why not change the rear window as well. New and different stuff for me, but I'm liking it so far.

How did you get the rack to work with the bed cover?

Ummm.... Yea about that! Lol

Well, the bars for the rear hoop are only in the very front corners of the bed (thank goodness). I cut a small notch in the front two corners of the bed cover, added a piece of weatherstrip from the hardware store, and problem solved.

I'll never be able to sell the bedcover. But then I don't plan on it. Lol

I saw the rack system at a recent offroad expo and fell in love with it. That and I want the backpack they sell. The two things that keep me from buying it is the price adds up super fast when trying to get all the accessory mounts and baskets and also fitment with a tonneau cover. The rack is a beast though and more stout than anything it there I have seen. If I was so do some serious rock crawling or fast trail driving this is the system to go with.

Yes, I'll agree. The prices do add up. I had two different bed racks before and removed my most recent one for this. This rack is awesome and solid and would've been great when I had my RTT on the back (it's on a trailer now). I didn't buy the catwalk and now wish I would have. But the reason I didn't at first is for the same reason you gave. Once you start adding items, the price gets higher and higher. If you're not careful, you'll be taking out a second mortgage just to get everything. Haha

What bed cover is that? I have a Twill Best top soft roll up so not sure I can modify mine like you did. I think that the rack is the best out there! I’m really wanting to get one and add the platform! Can you take the roof panels off? Looks like there is enough clearance? Also, was it hard to install?

Believe it or not, I actually have the Mopar tri-fold cover. I've had it for 3+ years now. Still hanging in there. Lol. As far as my roof rack, I'm loving it so far. BTW, you might be able to find a Mopar or similar bedcover for cheap now because there are so many out. If you could find one cheap, you could keep your soft cover as a backup (just in case).

Yes, there is enough clearance to remove the panels. But if you wanted to remove the entire top, it's designed to make that easy for you. It's easier to show you than tell you, so I'll post a link at the bottom to a video on my youtube channel and show you. Removing the panels is in the video as well. It wasn't very hard to install. I almost got a little confused a couple times. But, I had the directions and was watching the ARS video at the same time which made it easier. I probably could've installed it a lot faster had I not been watching TV.???

Here's how you remove the top if you wanted to:

@tysongladiator would you be able to snap a few pics of where/how you modified your tonneau cover? I've been interested in this rack for a while and having a tonneau that works with it is the only thing that gives me pause.

Thanks!

I had to cut a notch to make it fit. I do have a rubber piece that fits the notch to keep water from getting in. But, notching it is the only way it will work. I've had my cover for almost 4 years and it's beat up so notching it wasn't that big of a deal for me. Lol

Cool setup. :like:I’ve been meaning to sort out a fishing pole hauling solution.
Oh yes!!! I had a bed rack and had the fishing poles mounted to that. And I had a self (Easy) made hinge for access to my toolbox.

But when I moved the RTT to a trailer, I realized that I didn't need the bed rack anymore and it would be nice to get my back back for hauling. This rack allowed me to do that and still carry my poles.
