I had been looking for a quality gear package and thought I’d share this deal with anyone else that is looking. I found this place in Iowa called Complete Offroad and was able to get a full gear package for under $900. Gave them a call and they are Yukon gears that they sell at a discounted price under their own name.

looks like from the description that this rubicon listing is Dana 44 front and Rear :https://completeoffroad.com/i-23914...jl-and-gladiator-jt-rubicon-choose-ratio.html

and this non rubicon listing is Dana 30 front and Dana 44 rear : https://completeoffroad.com/i-23914...-rubicon-d30-front-d44-rear-choose-ratio.html

Up in our NE corner by the river. Dubuque.

The only problem with the listing is that we have Dana 44s in the JT.............

Gear Set for Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT Non-Rubicon - D30 Front/D35 Rear (choose ratio)

How do you feel about them? What are your thoughts after re gearing?

As I posted on my build thread...

I’m now running the Yukon 4.88 gears with 37x12.50/R17 tires - runs great!

The Gladiator runs - performance and transmission-wise, great, just like it did stock - it'll hold 8th gear on the freeway (when not climbing) as it should. And my MPGs have improved so now I'm getting 32MPGs (just kidding). MPGs are OK - I am driving a lifted aerodynamic brick on 37" tires - but my MPGs are as close to stock as they'll be with the JEEP set up this way.

If you're running 37's or taller tires I highly recommend re-gearing your JEEP.

I think they simply copied or modified their Wrangler listing and added JT to it but we have Dana 44 and not 30 or whatever.
That's my guess - you likely get the right part, but the description is wrong.

If you're running 37's or taller, you'll know if you need to re-gear because your JEEP likely won't hold 8th gear on the freeway. You'll likely see more gear changes and more use of 6th and 7th depending on the incline of the roads you're on.

Mine is that way as it came. I consider it "on the edge". 8th gear is a sometimes thing.
But then it's almost always windy here and we have hills everywhere. Even truckers are constantly changing gears.
Am thinking of a road trip west toward Omaha to pick up an old dealership sign a friend has saved for me - it's very level out that direction, want to see how it does on roads with less than a 3 or 4 degree grade.

I think he's right - let your JT tell you what it needs.

if you shop around you should be able to get Yukon gears for $850 plus installation from a shop near you. They also offer Yukon HD Differential Covers and you can get them with the gears if you like.

They question is what will it cost to have the gears installed

Depends on your carrier - with an Overland and 3.73 you have to swap the carrier to deal with the lower gears getting above numerical 4.xx

Either way, you will be paying for expertise and labor - takes a bit of time to set things up correctly - that's where you don't want to cheap out. A couple years ago one I did was a differential that had been "rebuilt" by a "guy who does that sort of thing" up in Kenosha - my friend got about 20-30 miles out of town and blew the pinion bearings out, locked it up. He got trailered home and brought me the differential. He was lucky, not a scratch on the gear teeth, only the bearings were toast. But when I got into the limited slip area - boy was that screwed up. The other guy had it totally wrong, the sequence of plates and disks, and some were BLUE. Why he even put those back........
It took a lot of time and I'm getting old for the type of lifting it takes - and the torque required at times.
If you want to "re-gear", find a shop, ask people about it - do research - get a handle on their reputation and be prepared to pay for quality. You don't want to have to do it twice.
