Unrelated, but I have an identical bike rack!I’m about $150 into my harbor freight setup. I used an electric hoist and some pulleys.

Trying to figure where you attach the straps to on the actual top?I’ll post pics of mine in a bit. I used a Harbor Freight 120v winch, 2 pulleys, 72” 2x4 , 1.5 Nylon straps and a 10.00 eyelet kit. It looks and works a lot like the J-Bar and works PERFECT!
The remote has a 10’ cord making moving and adjusting top on and off simple as can be. 2 bungee cords hooked after it is raised keeps the top from moving around at all. I have about $230 bucks in the entire build.![]()

I use 4 of The top bolts and 4 8mm wing nuts through the (2) front bolt holes and 2 of the rear bolt holes. VERY secure. (Just like J-Barr does) the pic doesnt show the rear straps completely. The end are tucked in the pads.Trying to figure where you attach the straps to on the actual top?
How long are your straps? I would love to copy what you did.I’ll post pics of mine in a bit. I used a Harbor Freight 120v winch, 2 pulleys, 72” 2x4 , 1.5 Nylon straps and a 10.00 eyelet kit. It looks and works a lot like the J-Bar and works PERFECT!
