Help with pricing

Hi-

I am looking to purchase a new/used gladiator and I am not sure what to do. It seems like in my area (Denver) Jeeps in general are a lot more expensive than most places. I am looking at possibly buying a used one if I can find the perfect one, buy new off the lot, or order. I am finding that there are some dealers selling new in stock 23s for 22-25% off and 24s for 12-16% off. Then there is the used option or factory order. here are a few questions I have.

1. the used ones I am finding that I like are $42-47K with original MSRPs from $58-68K and 10-30k miles, is it worth it to go used?

2. I have found a couple of 23s that I like but not exactly what I want. I am finding a lot do not have the 115V in the bed which is something I want. (is this hard to add) The 20-25% off is enticing though.

3. I have found a few 24s while also not exactly what I want they are 12-16% off MSRP.

4. factory order and get 5-7% under invoice? What does that equal to % wise off of MSRP?

Sorry for so many questions I am just looking for some opinions.

Gonna be a little different for each truck, but here's the number from my truck (MY2022).

MSRP: 52,915
FWP: 50,362
Using those numbers, 7% under invoice is roughly 11.5% under MSRP

Thanks for the info, that’s kind of what I was thinking. The 10-12% off range.

Buy a new leftover 23 or a discounted 24. That puts you in a good place. Used prices with some miles are about the same as new in a lot of cases.

I had the same dilemma when I bought mine in 2021 - most everyone on here has had a similar situation....
What worked best for me was to get new, I got exactly what I wanted and didn't end up paying for something I didn't want....
Just make sure your comparing apples to apples...and be patient!

The 115v in the bed is only 400amp which isn't jack. You might be shocked at how little you can power off it. Might be better to run DC to it like many have and run off that. Depends on the use case you have. The hardest part, if you want to do AC is you need a good place in the cab, or protected from heat to put the inverter. And you might need to be able to access it for resetting if something trips it.

Might be best to do a list of what you can't add yourself and see if you can find something, then look at the cost to add what you can and go from there.

The outlet in the bed is not hard to do. It costs about $500 bucks for the parts plus a tazer, jscan or alfaobd to enable it. Here is a link for the complete kit. You might be able to piece it together cheaper elsewhere.

As for your vehicle it really comes down to what you want. At the end of the day it's what you are most happy with. Unless you are looking for a Diesel I would say go new if you can afford it and get exactly what you want.

I doubt you can run a fridge on the bed plug. And if. Misspoke. It is 400watt not amp. Which is not able to run most fridges.

I bought a 23 Mojave to go with the 21 Rubi Diesel. I ordered the diesel but with the price drop of the 23’s, I thought I would pick one up but you are right, it takes a lot of work as the Jeep search engine is garbage. I looked for months and purchased the day before Easter. I even looked out of state but what ended up working best for me was searching for dealerships further out and checking their inventory to see if they had anything close to what I wanted. This was a super tedious process. But it did pay off as I found the Mojave I was looking for an hour and a half drive from home. It was 24 percent below sticker and the only option it didn’t have that I desired was the spray in bed liner. Easy aftermarket fix. Maybe I got lucky but in this case, persistence paid off.

As far as the bed power goes, I would opt for something with a little more power. In the Rubi, I run a Jackery that gets recharged through solar to a full size battery and it is pretty nice. It even came in handy during the last power outage to bring inside the house to power lamps and recharge phones. Good luck and I am sure the work will pay off.

Go new. Did previous owner break in the engine properly? When was their first oil change after purchase? Was it taken off-road and beat up? Did they know how to properly shift into 4-lo without grinding gears?

I run my fridge on my 13' JK and 23' Nissan Pro-4X with no issues.

I also have been going back and forth on an Eco-Diesel as I had a 2016 Ram 1500 Eco-Diesel and loved it.
