Hi all,
I recently purchased a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I plan on installing an AEV 2" spacer lift, 4.88 gears, and 37x12.50R20 Toyo RT tires on 20x10 Fuel Rebel D680 wheels. The backspacing on this wheel is 4.79" and the offset is -18. I'm not sure what that is actually going to translate into when they're on the jeep. I'd like the tires to stick out a couple inches past the fender flares, but not more than that. Will this wheel/tire setup accomplish that?

People Work?
Don't push the center out any more than is needed. The farther out from center you go the more stress you're applying to your bearings, knuckles, etc.
You could easily do those tires with zero offset.

I'm going to bring up several things you didn't ask for, but nevertheless, are very important in satisfaction with your purchase.

First, what are you using the vehicle for? What will you be doing with it? 100% street? Trail or fire road riding whenever you get the chance? I ask for several reasons. First, in looking up the tire on Trail Built Offroad's site >>>click here>>> Toyo R/T 37x12.50R20LT, you'll see that this tire is a Load Range E tire, meaning it's a 10 ply tire meant for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. It's WAY too much tire for this vehicle. I feel you won't be happy with the ride. Secondly, by putting a 20" tire in a 37 inch tire, you're robbing yourself from some much needed sideway. IF you go off road, you are minimizing your ability smooth out the washboard an pock marked trails.

There's a reason why the vast majority of vehicle's you'll see on this site run 17" rims. Sidewalls are a good thing. You can use them. They can flex for added traction and comfort. By using a E rated tire on a 20" rim is a double wammy. You have a tire that's not designed to flex and a wheel for that size that won't aid it in doing so. Now, if you were talking 40's, that would be a different story, but still not with an E rated tire.

If you're going to stay on paved roads and want something that's capable of feeling like it's on rails this combo may be the correct way of thinking, then again, you may choose a different vehicle and be much happier. Just my 2Cents. Good luck with whatever you do.

As far as poke and sizing, this may help:

With that amount of backspacing-- ideally, you want a 0 offset wheel, which will give you about 2" of wheel poke outside of the fender flare to negate any potential for rub.

I'll be using the truck on the street 99.9% of the time. Thanks for the input on tire selection. After looking around, I can't find any C or D rated 37x12.5R20 tires. Everything is E rated unless I drop all the way down to a 17" wheel, which isn't the look I'm going for.
