2021 Sport stock, but had to have the windshield replaced last November. Have suddenly developed a high pitched, oscillating (and very annoying) sound at high speed coming from the windshield area. My grandson described it as Morse code. Only happens on the interstate.
At first we (myself, son and grandson) thought it might be coming from the radio antenna. The antenna's movements seemed to coincide with the oscillation. As a test, I removed the antenna mast, but the noise remained.
Have tried search forums and there are reports on other Jeep's having noise from the windshield area.
Thoughts? Tests? Dealer visit?
Thanks

Most likely didn't set your windshield in the right spot and the gap is creating a whistling noise. This was very common on the JK as well which I'm assuming is the same issue here. Jeep even makes a "windshield installation spacer" to prevent this very problem, but I have yet to see anyone even use them and they cost less than $5.

You can try to isolate the issue with blue painter's tape. Start with the windshield perimeter first and do one side at a time. If not the windshield, check the other common wind noise area which is the gap on the back side of the A-pillars (see pic below). I had to fill this gap with automotive foam tape to fix my wind noise.

I had the same issue. Driving around with the rear window slider open made it better. Removing the doors for a couple of days fixed it completely.

Also try to tape off the edges of that plastic triangle right by the mirror on the outside of the door. I found my wind Noise issue was there. I have read that others had the same issue. Taking it to the dealer on Friday.

More than likely it’s your windshield replacement seal. Literally it’s just a gasket(like rtv sealant) and if they didn’t apply it in the right spot… whistle noise.

I had my windshield replaced 2 times within a month and I mentioned the same thing your experiencing to the 2nd installer. When he pulled my windshield he pointed out the spot where the previous installer messed up. He also mentioned that they have a install warranty and it would have been covered… well at least their company… I’d say take it back to the glass people and tell them you didn’t have noise before hand and now you do.
Good luck.

I thought the same thing, but the OP had the windshield replaced in November and now, 6 months later, has suddenly developed a noise coming from the windshield area (which could be any number of things). Could be a hard sell to the glass company that it is their problem without some proof. But, I guess it never hurts to ask.

If the OP tapes off the windshield frame to windshield gap and the noise goes away, then that's the proof it is a windshield seal issue.

Living out in the country and with construction on local interstate, I'll need to wait for a reason to do the test. I have to drive several miles before I'm on a 70MPH stretch. Local gas is $5.25, so don't want to waste it. I will locate the source before I contact anyone.

Sorry for the delay. I taped off the windshield and it is somewhere on the passenger side. Called the insurance people and they put me in touch with the installer. They wanted a chance to repair the seal and said if that didn't fix it they would replace the windshield (promise #1).

Last Monday drove 60 minutes to their shop. While I had described the testing I had done to the insurance agent (taping off different areas) the glass folks didn't ask a single question. Just have a seat.

Today did a test drive and their patches on the bottom of the windshield (as evidenced by the blue tape) didn't fix the problem. So I called and said, it isn't fixed and I'm ready for a new windshield. The person on the phone says we will order one from the dealer and get back to you. Promise two

Fifteen minutes later get the call that they need a "senior tech" to take a look. I"m not happy to agree to drive another hour (in a different town) for an inspection. This time it is "if it can't be fixed we will come to you and replace the windshield."

I don't like where this is headed. Has anyone else had problems with a windshield replacement? Is there a TSB on this?

Thanks,
Barry

Problem solved - I think. The "expert" told me he removed the windshield and found 3 spots where the "primer" had separated. He said it was most likely caused by a lack of cleaning the area during the install. He reinstalled the glass and there was no noise on the way home.

This guy was everything that the others at this company were not. I'm happy it is fixed, but pissed that I'm out 4 hours of driving time and expenses.
