I already have software. I use LXI Vinyl Express that came with the vinyl cutter. It’s a version of Flexi.

I’ve taken photos and have done an ‘autotrace’ function’. It traces the photos or jpegs into cuttable lines. There’s ALWAYS lots and lots of clean up and manipulation.

I already own a vinyl cutter and have multiple rolls of vinyl, which is the reason I was asking. I think I found a good enough image and I'm going to cut it out and see how it works. It should be of the same quality as other vendors, so we'll see how it lasts.

I am not saying that everyone should do this, I would recommend to buy them for anyone else that doesn't already have the hardware.

We've had a cricut since I believe 2019 which my wife and I won at a raffle. So we use it occasionally, but don't ever plan on making a business or even selling anything we make. It's all for personal use.

Gotcha. in that case there are many online vector file suppliers (usually from India) that will take a good quality photo or a jpeg file and redraw it to vector for about 5 bucks US. Just send them the details, including any changes to the text to make it yours and they'll redraw it to the file type that best suits your machine. You can even request that they do any overlaps you require, etc.

Only if the file you cut (as mentioned above) doesn't work to your satisfaction!

I just went to a local sign & decal shop. I let him do all the searching & design, I just approved it. I wanted silver RUBICON letters....also Gladius, instead of GLADIATOR on the sides. He made them, I installed them under my shadetree at home. I think the whole thing cost well under $30

Wow if he did all of that for 30 bucks, he’s not gonna be in business for very long ha ha specially not in this orange economy! What a deal man! Don’t think you’ll find that kind of price in all cases… I would say 100 bucks would still be very fair… Just take a look at what Mopar charges for decals online

Small town Titusville, the promise of other Jeepers seeing my decals, as well as I did the work of removing the old, installing the new, which he did not have time for, and was going to charge me an arm & leg to do. Also, he had some scrap vinyl from an earlier job laying around that he cut from. ...That and he owns a Jeep, too. ......Oh, and he is a Georgia Bulldog fan, this is the colors I was going with, red Jeep, silver-grey lettering.
Plus, he has a sign shop. He doesn't normally do lettering on vehicles, anymore, most people order online, and do their own.

I can dig out the receipt. It was a little over a year ago, I know I would not have done this if the price was not right. I was out of work on medical leave, getting my knee replaced, I did not have the $$ for much, having the payments for that new Rubicon Gladdy coming out of my bank. A lot of things fell into place. He was a sign shop, and doesn't get calls to do many cars anymore. I did the hard part. He was also a Jeep owner, as well as a Georgia fan- I was going with silver lettering on my Red Jeep. Right time right place, & small town. I just took the time to stop in, talk, and ask questions, because I wanted to stay local. He even made extra GLADIATOR letters just in case I messed up!

He’s got some great designs & they’re customizable. I know you said you wanted to do your own, but check them out at least. I’m calling him today to see if he can do ‘Jolene’ in the Mojave font w/ the topographical design I currently have from him.

Wondering if you had any luck with getting the hood decal in the Mojave font with different lettering? I have been trying to find a similar enough font to do this as well and so far no luck.

I’ve used “Batman Forever” (font) and made some adjustments to the ‘J’.
Someone else on this forum said “Ben Pioneer” is another one to look at.
