Hey everyone. I’m looking for a high quality hitch mounted cargo carrier for long road trips. What is everyone using, and how are the results? Pictures if you’ve got them please. Thanks in advance.

I have one I used with my jku, the best thing was a clamp I bought that bolts and forces the tung of the cargo carrier up and stops it from moving (as much) it is a must in
My opinion, as far as the rack, tractor supply but fairly standard

YES because those things rattle terribly if not heavily loaded. Empty it's terrible.
I got a platform type carrier cheap years ago - used it to haul stuff with my WJ, snow blower, gas cans, etc.

Keep in mind, some States enforce heavily when you block the view of the license plate.

I got one from Walmart for like $80. It's rated for 500 lbs. Like others suggested, I use a clamp at the receiver to reduce shaking and rattling. I also added a strip-style add-on brake light from amazon for like $15 and put it on the carrier, along with a lighted license plate bracket. I carry a nut driver in the truck so I have what's needed to make a quick and easy move of the license plate when the view is blocked.

I'm on my first trip with it right now and all has worked as I hope. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely want to avoid the rattle.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess the option would be relocate the plate for the trip.
