How late can an order be altered?

Does anyone have experience with altering an order? I am currently in D status and have been for about 3 weeks. After consideration, I would like to add the cold weather package but I dont know if it's too late. I also don't want to add six months to my order either. If so, it isn't a big deal but I would like to add it if I can. I am going to reach out to my salesperson/dealership tomorrow to ask, but we all know they are limited as to their knowledge many times. Seeing as how 99% of my knowledge has come from this forum I thought I might ask the experts here. Thank you in advance.

I decided about 1.5 weeks after I ordered that I wanted the alpine upgrade and bed lining. My dealer said it should not be a problem. I have not followed up yet to see what the out come will be.

I went in to add the spray in bedliner to my order 1 week after placing it. FCA came back and said no problem but it will add a delay of 1 month so the dealer said they will do it for me when it arrives.

Some decades ago I ordered a Chevrolet S10 Blazer from the factory. And I wanted to change the color. At the time the dealership told me that I could make any and all changes I wanted to up until the time that they started to build it. Ok yes I know that was Chevrolet and it was some decades ago. But that was how it was handled on that order with Chevrolet. Really liked that ride.

I had my von and Vin and got LED lights and painted flares added no problem. Although I'm still stuck in D status...

I believe prior to D1 you can make changes. However, it bumps your order to the date the change was made.
